LEROY'S
BIOGRAPHY
Before
Leroy was living the rock and roll life style in Southern California
he was just your typical kid in Spokane Washington shoveling snow
in the winter and mowing lawns in the summer saving up all his money
to buy a motorcycle or a guitar. With high hopes of being a professional
motorcycle racer or a rock star one day Leroy's dad asked him, "son
what do you want to do with your life, race motorcycles or play
music?" Leroy answered…"both"! This was typical of Leroy's "I can
do anything" attitude that has fueled his desire to fulfill his
dreams ever since.
By
the age of 17 Leroy knew that his talent was in music and California
was the place to be if he wanted to see his dreams of being a rock
star come true. After arriving in Los Angeles in the late 90's Leroy
landed his first record deal with his band Hog on Geffen Records.
Leroy realized quickly that getting a record deal was just the start
of a very long and hard road ahead. After a few years of touring
with his band Leroy was dropped from Geffen due to low record sales.
This was the turning point for Leroy to make records that he wanted
to make and to find that sound that was in his head. Leroy started
recording new music with a mix of elements that can only be described
as soulful. Hollywood Records noticed this sound and signed him
to a new deal and released his first self-titled solo album in 2001.
Leroy's
new album captured the ears of many music supervisors that licensed
his music for film and TV. This was great because Leroy was making
money but it didn't satisfy his need to rock! After hitting the
road opening for bands like Aerosmith, The Dave Matthews Band and
Smashmouth, Leroy was unhappy with the way Hollywood Records was
marketing his music and demanded to be released from his recording
contract.
After
leaving all this behind Leroy started getting calls from some big
names in the music business like John Mayer, Smashmouth and Lindsay
Lohan to lend his many talents on their records! Meanwhile, Leroy
has released 2 CD's (Squish and Walla Walla) independently on his
own record label TML Records. Leroy is now recording songs for a
new CD as well as writing and producing music for other artists
that want to have that soulful sound that is undeniably… Leroy!
